Role scope
To be responsible for overseeing and managing the electrical operations of a construction or industrial project. To ensure that all electrical operations are completed safely and according to industry standards. This includes supervising and training electricians, ordering materials and supplies, and ensuring that all safety regulations are followed. To ensure that the project is completed on time and on budget. To be a hands-on leader who can motivate their team to complete the project successfully.
Details / responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of electricians and other electrical workers during installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
- Assign duties, examine work for accuracy, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety regulations
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Prepare sketches and follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment, and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes
- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed
